Salesforce Summer ’21 Release

Fast Slow Motion is excited to announce the Salesforce Summer ’21 Release

Lots of new features:

Lightning Experience, Salesforce Flow, Lightning Web Component, Apex, Experience Cloud, Pardot, Quip, Tableau CRM, and APIs.

Analyze Your Lightning Page Performance

Discover ways to make your record page perform better based on analysis right inside the Lightning App Builder. Performance Analysis in App Builder evaluates the fields, instances of the Related Lists component, and metadata of a record page. With the click of a button, get best practices and suggestions for improving page performance and the end-user experience.

Where: This change applies to Lightning Experience in Group, Essentials, Professional, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions.

How: To view the assessment of your page’s performance, click Analyze from the Lightning App Builder toolbar.

Three In-App Guidance Walkthroughs for Free

Now you can create as many walkthroughs as you want, showing your users up to three at a time. If you want to show them more, subscribe to myTrailhead. Previously, activating custom walkthroughs for your users required a myTrailhead subscription or a free trial.

Where: This change applies to Lightning Experience in Essentials, Professional, Enterprise, Unlimited, and Developer editions.

Who: To show more than three custom walkthroughs to users, subscribe to myTrailhead to get the Walkthroughs permission set license and the Access Walkthroughs permission set. Assign the View Walkthroughs user permission to users you want to be able to see walkthroughs. Contact your Salesforce account executive for pricing details.

See Record Access Reasons in Lightning Experience

A user has access to a record, but why? Is it because of their role? Their territory? From a sharing rule? Now you can see why a user has the access they do, right from Record Sharing Hierarchy in Lightning Experience. Previously, you switched to Salesforce Classic to see this information. Sharing Hierarchy is now available on the action menu, not just in the Share window.

Where: This change applies to Lightning Experience in Professional, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer editions

How: Select Sharing Hierarchy from the action menu on the record. Click View next to a user’s name. You see the record access the user has, and the reason for the access in the displayed table.

Sales Cloud Updates

Dynamic Actions Bar

  • Configure a complete Dynamic Actions Bar, enabling you to add standard and custom actions, as well as set the visibility for the entire bar.

Download a Dashboard Image to a File

  • Great new feature for clients to use when giving presentations, when a user needs an image of their dashboard they can embed that image into presentations or refer to it wherever they are, by downloading the dashboard to a PNG file. Previously, you could only obtain a dashboard image by using a screen capture app. These changes apply to Lightning Experience only.

Where: These changes are available in Lightning Experience in Group, Essentials, Professional, Enterprise, Performance, Unlimited, and Developer Editions.
