Breaking Down HubSpot’s Biggest AI Announcements | Ep 011

AI isn’t just showing up in the headlines—it’s reshaping how platforms like HubSpot are built and used. In Episode 011 of AI in Action, Eric Housh and Zack Terry break down the biggest announcements from HubSpot’s INBOUND 2025 conference, including the expansion of Breeze AI agents, the launch of Data Hub, and the debut of HubSpot’s LOOP framework for agent engine optimization.

They explore why agents are only as powerful as the data behind them, how HubSpot is making AI adoption easier for everyday users, and why the shift from search to AI-driven answers means the traditional marketing funnel is officially dead.

You’ll also get insight into the latest AI headlines, from ASML’s €1.3B investment in Mistral to OpenAI’s research on reducing hallucinations, Oracle’s record-breaking $300B deal, Microsoft’s integration of Claude into Copilot, and Apple’s copyright lawsuit over AI training.

If you’re ready to stop treating AI as a side project and start making it part of your core strategy, this episode will show you where to begin.

Hey everyone, welcome to another episode of AI in Action. I’m Eric Housh, joined, as always, by the one and only Zack Terry, Fast Slow Motion’s Director of AI. Zack, how are we doing today?

Doing great. You know, I got up this morning, tried to order the new iPhone. I hope it’s coming on time. Pretty excited.

Are you staying on brand? Are you getting the orange or what?

I couldn’t do the orange. I had to go with the blue. I was disappointed they didn’t have black this year, but I can settle for a dark blue. I did notice, though, it’s all Auburn colors this year. I think Tim Cook’s definitely bringing the Auburn love to Cupertino for sure.

Zack, today we’re recording this on September 12. I spent all last week with a couple of other members of our executive team in San Francisco at HubSpot’s Inbound conference.

And it was all AI, man. Everything they’re talking about: AI this, AI that—Breeze Agents, Data Hub—a ton of features and functionality that can really reshape how our teams operate day to day. But before we dig into that, let’s hit the news.

Let’s hit the news, man. I’ll tee up a headline, you let me and our listeners know why it matters. First: ASML becomes Mistral’s largest shareholder. Who is ASML, and why should we care?

ASML is a Dutch designer and manufacturer of photolithography equipment, which is used to produce microchips. I’m no expert in terms of how these are engineered, but it allows you to do the printing on the chips. It’s interesting to see they are investing in Mistral, which is a French AI chatbot company—think of it like a rival to ChatGPT or Claude.

This is a €1.3 billion investment in Mistral, which is Europe’s most valuable AI company at around €11.7 billion. It’s a great move for Europe, just to see more AI companies and solutions getting funded. It reduces dependence on the United States and China.
